It's a Daily Process

Our pastor once said that God changes the thing through "presto" but He changes you through the "process."

When in a situation like this, it is natural to want God to do it "presto"... yet for Brittney, mom, and family this has been a process. God is definitely changing us all too.

Brittney is still in ICU, however she is improving daily. We are happy to hear her talk, although sometimes it's hard to understand what she's saying. Also to hear the funny interactions she's had with the nurses... asking how much they make, telling them she wants Mountain Dew, and even asking for clothes so she can go home.

Although she won't be back to 100% for a while, we're happy to have her conscious and getting better daily. For all of us, especially Brittney, this is only the beginning of a long healing process. Right now our prayer focus is for her lungs to continue to strengthen daily, more consciousness and awareness, and a successful wean from the medicine.

Again, we cannot express our gratitude enough for your continued prayers for Brittney, mom and our family during this time. You are greatly appreciated!

  1. Please high five your pastor for me! God's word says that it is tribulation that "worketh" our patience. Sometimes, I do wish it was as easy as presto. So glad to watch this miracle unfold...for His glory.

  2. Hi, I just wanted to leave a note and encourage you after Ben sent me this link. My family went through similar (ICU, ventilators, etc) when my father had an accident several years ago. A wise nurse told us at the time it's a marathon, not a sprint and to look after our health, not be at the bed all day every day etc. So important!

Have prayed for this lovely girl and praying for you.

  3. God we thank you for having Your creation in Your hands...no better place for Brittney to be. In times like these, we cannot see where a road will take us. God, being honest, it scares us....but then I recall to my mind, therefore it's because of Your mercies that we are not consumed. We praise you because we know you will get glory from what this family is experiencing. I speak strength into each of them....God touch this family.
Now God, we release this situation into your hands, because you are more than able. We have done all we can....the doctors have done all they can, we leave it up to you now.
    It is so.
