Successful Surgery

The tracheostomy procedure went well. Brittney is back in ICU doing well. They were able to turn down her ventilator settings since surgery.

Tracheostomy Day

Brittney is scheduled to have a temporary tracheostomy today. This will help her breath better. Please join us in prayer for a smooth operating procedure today. We also found out that other ICU kids will have to have the same prodecure today, so we're praying for them as well. We will update after surgery today. Thanks for continually joining your faith with ours in believing for complete health & healing for Brittney. She's an overcomer through Christ Jesus! -The Williams Family

Lungs Strength

We are rejoicing that Brittney is continuing to do well despite the doctors report. She's wide awake, alert and still moving her limbs. She's even more engaging with her eyes and moving her lips. This morning the doctors told mom that Brittney's lungs are still very weak and it they don't improve over the next few days, they will have to do a tracheotomy on her. So today our prayer focus is for overall strength in her body (especially her lungs) as she recovers from all that she's been through over the past seven weeks. Please pray and stand in agreement with us. -The Williams Family

Beating the Odds

No matter what the doctors have reported, Brittney is continuing to beat the odds! She's alert, wide-eyed and moving her limbs. She is also moving her lips and and slid in bed towards her mom. The doctors were amazed this morning that she was doing all the things they said she would not do. BUT, we serve an awesome God who is the Healer! We have worship music and the Word of God playing near her bed to constantly feed her spirit. We're continuing to pray for no setbacks and continued healing and progress. Right now she's still on the ventilator as doctors are testing her lung strength before they take her off. So, we're also praying that her lungs are strengthened. We're so very proud of Brittney. -The Williams Family

No More Setbacks

For the past few days, Brittney has experienced a couple of setbacks. Instead of giving voice to those issues by blogging about it, today we're asking everyone to join us in prayer (and agreement) that she will not experience any more setbacks, but she heals and recovers from this day forward. By the way, since our last blog, Brittney has proven the medical report wrong yet again by being awake, alert & moving her head, fingers, arms and legs. She's also been moving her mouth. We are believing God for full recovery, in the name of Jesus Christ. Keep praying with us. -The Williams Family

Brain Damage Report

Yesterday we were hit with the news that Brittney's brain is damaged beyond self-repair. They told us that the Brittney we "knew" will never be anymore and at best she would be a "vegetable." One doctor reminded us that it is a miracle that she is alive and that it would be another miracle that she comes through this. We know that God is in the midst and He is already working on Brittney's brain... restoring and repairing her brain and breathing fresh life into her. Although initially the news was a very hard blow, we're standing in faith on Brittney's behalf knowing that God has already healed her and made her brain function healthy & whole. This morning Brittney shocked the doctors by crying at the sound of mom's voice. Mom said to Brittney, "I know you're in there and God is healing you..." Please continue to stand in faith with us that Brittney's brain function is healed, healthy & whole and that we'll see the ma

We've Been Here Before

It's hard sometimes, but I (Auntie Meka) have to remind myself that we've been here before... and just as God did it then, He'll do it again. God is able indeed. But not only is He able, He wants to... He wants to be our healer, deliverer, Savior, peace... our everything. In the natural, what we experienced last Thursday may have seemed like a set back. But I'm learning that what seems to be one thing is actually another. I've determined that "seem" is really an illusion of the mind influenced by outer circumstances. The reality in all that "seems" to be is that God is still God! And that is where my heart takes anchor and rejoice for Brittney, my sister, our family, friends & incercessors all over the world. God is raising up a real live testimony of His Might, His Power and His Spirit. Saints, let us rejoice and begin praising God even now! Despite what it seems in your situation, I just want to encourage you to just praise God right now! H

Update on Brittney

Docs unparalyzed Brittney & took her off the cooling blanket so see if her heart keeps the rythm on it's own. They believe the Methadone caused her to stop breathing. No blood clots were found. If all goes well (and we believe they will), they'll wake her up soon.

Today's Test Results

They took Brittney to have a CT Scan of her brain to see if there was any damage. The results revealed no damage. The doctors said that when they wake her up in a couple of days we'll know the extent of brain damage (if there is any). They also did a Ultra Sound of her lungs and heart and found no blood clots. What needs to happen now is that Brittney's vital signs (especially heart rythm) needs to remain stable for 24-48 hours. Right now she's been stable for almost 15 hours. God is able! We covet your continued prayers as we're seeing the Hand of God move right now. -The Williams Family

Back in ICU

At 3:00 am Brittney told the nurse that something was wrong. By 3:15 am she stopped breathing and the doctors worked on her. They were able to revive her and take her to ICU. We're being told that the next 24-48 hours are very critical as her heart's rhythm needs to stay strong and steady with the meds they're giving her. The doctors also said that because she was without oxygen for over 30 minutes, it's possible that she has brain damage. Right now she's too critical for further testing to see if there is brain damage or how much (if any). We're an emotional wreck, but we're holding on spiritually. Please lift Brittney, mom & family to the Lord at this time. Especially pray Brittney through this critical time. -The Williams Family

It's a Daily Process

Our pastor once said that God changes the thing through "presto" but He changes you through the "process." When in a situation like this, it is natural to want God to do it "presto"... yet for Brittney, mom, and family this has been a process. God is definitely changing us all too. Brittney is still in ICU, however she is improving daily. We are happy to hear her talk, although sometimes it's hard to understand what she's saying. Also to hear the funny interactions she's had with the nurses... asking how much they make, telling them she wants Mountain Dew, and even asking for clothes so she can go home. Although she won't be back to 100% for a while, we're happy to have her conscious and getting better daily. For all of us, especially Brittney, this is only the beginning of a long healing process. Right now our prayer focus is for her lungs to continue to strengthen daily, more consciousness and awareness, and a successful wean from the

Still in ICU

Day before yesterday, the doctors talked about moving Brittney to SCU (Special Care Unit). However, yesterday they said she was too weak to move. Here's what needs to happen before she can go to the step down unit... 1. Her lungs needs to be stronger. 2. She needs to be awake more. 3. She has to have more movement in her body. Please continue to pray for Brittney and our family as each day this is a process. Because of your faithfulness to fast and pray, we've seen the hand of God on Brittney's life. -The Williams Family

Brittney is Talking Now

Yesterday after being taken off the ventilator, Brittney talked a little. She told one of the nurses that her arm hurts and later that evening she told mom that she was ready to go home. As we've been told constantly from the doctors, this is the beginning of a long journey for Brittney. We are ready for the journey one step at a time. Right now, Brittney's temperature is trending down and she will have further testing and another possible surgery. Mom is very happy to be able to talk to Brittney... we all are! We have been doing a photo journal and when Brittney is ready, we'll not only share them with her, but also share them with you so that you can see what God did (is doing now) through your prayers. We thank you for your continued prayer support as we continue on the road to recovery and wellness w/ Brittney. Keep checking this blog for updates. We'll have more blogs from mom, Auntie Meka and others. Again, we encourage your comments so that Brittney can read your

A Quick Announcement

Brittney will be taken off the ventilator after lunch today! She's responsive, aware of her surrounding, and moving on her own. We're believing God for a smooth transition today. Thank you for your continued prayer support. -The Williams Family

Another Big Day for Brittney

The past few days have been fairly quiet. Brittney has been progressing very well. The only thing is that her fever still exists. Last right the doctors let her breathe on her own without the ventilator for an hour and she did great. This morning at 7:00 am they woke her up fully for tests. They will take more fluids from her joints and determine if she needs more surgery. We will update the blog later today when we know more. Thank you for your continued prayers for her & for our family. -The Williams Family

A Big Day for Brittney

Last night Brittney had a rough night. She spiked a fever of 105.4 and it took much prayer and cooling blankets, meds and an act of God to get her fever down. This morning Brittney went for surgery. The doctors removed infectious fluids from her right hip and right knee. The surgery was a little more extensive that it started out because more spots were found. She made it through surgery and back to ICU just fine. The doctors were pleased with how surgery went. They are still watching Brittney's left knee and hip to see if there are more possible infected areas. She's on four different antibiotics to help eradicate the infection in her body. As of the 8 pm visitation tonight, Brittney was responsive and even mouthing words to mom, family & the nurses. She has a temp still, however it's lower than it has been the past couple of days. Her Peep Respiratory Number is at 7 and she is doing well breathing on her own with the ventilator. Our prayer is that today's surgery

Message from Mom

Hello All, I am Brittney's mother and I would just like to share some things that I have experienced on Britt's road of Divine Instructions. #1. I know that my daughter has a healing anointing on her life that will never be changed as long as God says the same. My child is a special child she is different from most teens. Not disrespectful, still a virgin and a strong believer in Christ. She is a joy in my life. Okay on to this journey, this has been rough as with any parent but I know God is so Good and that he has to get the glory. As mentioned earlier Britt is slowly improving and all glory goes to God. This has been a real challenge for me but through it all I have been able to pray for other kids, see the manifestation of healing and to allow the spirit to talk with me and console other ICU parents. I have grown very close to the Hamlin's family as their daughter and Brittney has traveled similiar roads. God has been so good and the opportunity to see lives changed and

Satan's Eviction Notice

I am tired, we have allowed you to stay too long, and the time has come for you to turn over your keys and flee! You have no power and every trick you brought has failed. God is in control! Death, my daughter has already given her life to Jesus Christ! "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" Jesus in John 10:10. Sickness and disease, just as God healed the woman with the issue of blood, He has healed Brittney. (Matthew 9:20-22) Sickle Cell Anemia and infection must flee! HEALED - Brittney is healed by Jesus' stripes. "...by His stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 Praise dance is her gift that was given to her by God and she will not be moved! You are trying to attack her legs, but I command you and serve notice that YOU ARE EVICTED right now in the name of Jesus! Brittney is healed and she is whole! Mama (Quanda)

Brittney is Responding

The day before yesterday, the doctors took Brittney off her sedation medicine to wake her up for a couple of hours to see how she would respond. With mom and dad by her side, she opened her eyes and cried. She responded very well to them and to physical therapy. After two hours of being awake, the doctors sedated her again so her body could rest. After about two hours of sedation, Deacon Stoves visited Brittney's bedside and while he prayed she opened her eyes. What a blessing! She is not heavily sedated as she was before, so she will open her eyes and blink or frown her face in response to what's going on around her. When mom mentioned her dance ministry when all of this is over, and how anointed Brittney is... and how God is going to use her to tell her story and heal others, tears rolled down her face. We are pleased to report that Brittney's PEEP Respiratory Number was down to 8 last night. Originally doctors wanted her to reach 10 before taking her off the ventilator.
